Ride Report

The AK Orange is a ski that impresses with its versatility. During its development, the focus was on creating a ski that offers every skier, regardless of ability, an incomparable feeling of safety and stability. This ambition was absolutely achieved with the Orange. Its exceptional smoothness is the hallmark of the Orange. This quality is particularly evident on long, fast turns. Thanks to a slightly larger radius, the Orange masters both fast descents and leisurely cruising with flying colors.

Your guarantee - the Orange keeps its promises. The carefully designed geometry gives the Orange its unmistakable character and makes it a unique ski. With a slightly wider ski center of 73mm compared to classic racing skis, the Orange strikes the perfect balance between stability and sportiness. This characteristic makes it ideal for both high-speed, full-throttle passages and relaxed skiing in any terrain.

Whether on groomed slopes or in challenging snow conditions, the Orange proves its versatility and reliability. It is the ideal companion for skiers who are looking for a ski that proves itself in every situation and offers a confident, controlled ride.

Basetop vs. elastAK: The basetop surface of the Popart version is made of the same material as the ski base and gives the ski a reactive dynamic. It provides stability and creates a rebound effect that makes the ski lively. In contrast, the elastAK surface of the original absorbs fine vibrations during the ride, resulting in incomparable calm and stability and a feeling of extreme safety. ElastAK is also easy on the joints.

My personal recommendation:

The Orange redefines the perfect balance between comfortable skiing and sporty performance. This ski, available in sizes from 157cm to 179cm, offers something for every skier. It surprises with its ability to remain precise and agile even in tight turns, despite larger radii.

What particularly distinguishes the Orange is its light-footedness. Turn initiation is effortless. The Orange is forgiving, not every small mistake is immediately punished, which is a particular advantage on longer days of skiing.

As soon as the Orange picks up speed, it reveals its true potential. Giving it a little space means fully exploiting its strength. At higher speeds, the Orange turns into a real racer. Its radii are ideal for wide, precise turns. Particularly in hilly, medium-steep terrain, it offers a wonderful, fluid ride that makes every descent an unforgettable experience.
